Klax is a planet as diverse, and broken, as its people. From the architecture and history of Iwata-Squaw to the ruins and shrines of Browda’s Belly; the casino’s and grand shipyards of CK South to the peaks of The Eye of Browda; Klax offers something for everyone.

Until recently, Klax was divided between three great nations: Iwata, Browda, and Consolidated-Klax (Con-Klax). These three were in constant conflict with each other and have never found the common ground needed to form a world government. With the advent of space travel each nation began settling its own planets and simply moved their conflicts to these new worlds.

For centuries there were no conflicts on Klax itself. Three hundred years ago something changed in Browda. Suddenly it seemed that the entire Browdan people had radicalized and taken a militant stance in the conversion of other Klaxians. Seemingly the entire Browdan race was armed and engaged in a violent crusade to convert the rest of their species. For the first time in centuries Con-Klax and Iwata were forced to join forces to restore peace. There have been 7 such wars over the past 300 years.

Now, Klax is a planet split in two, divided between the nation of Iwata and the interstellar conglomerate Consolidated-Klax. After the Preacher’s Crusade, Iwata and Con-Klax decided that the Browdan state itself was irredeemable and finally conquered their home continent. A joint occupation was agreed to and Browdan colonies were divided between the great powers. The wealthiest colonies saw their Browdan population relocated in far smaller numbers on other planets.

Now Iwata and Con-Klax maintain an uneasy peace. Browdan extremism is still a major problem, as is ethnic violence committed against Browdan refugees.
