Stuart Allen Moss

Age: 26

Born: Houston, Texas

Stu was part of the first generation to grow up with the wonders of fusion power. Unfortunately, he got the short end of the stick. Texas was hit hard by that rise and with its dependence on the oil industry, Houston was hit worst of all. In the year following the advent of commercial fusion power, the oil market collapsed totally and completely. Suddenly, almost the entire population of Houston (approx 4.5 million) was out of work, including Stu’s parents. Stu’s father became addicted to opioids after spraining his back working in a Company fulfillment center, one of the only jobs left for those without a college education, and his mother was killed in a car accident when Stu was 3.

With little to no supervision, Stu didn’t receive a formal education and spent most of his time biking around the derelict city. This led him to an underground race scene and it quickly became clear that he was a once in a generation natural. Stu spent 2 years racing cars in Houston before the entire city ran out of fuel, and looking for his next challenge he applied for the U.S. Space Force. He passed all of the physical exams and piloting tests on the first try, almost unheard of for a new recruit, but he quickly bottomed out due to a total lack of discipline. It was then at age 18 that Stu was approached by a representative of The Boss to race professionally for The Company in the Kiper League.

By 19, Stu was at the top of the league. He had the most wins, the fastest ship, and the most prestigious sponsors. But by 23, Stu again grew restless. Not satisfied by his own success, just as suddenly as he had entered the league, he dropped out.
